Matt Stinchcomb

Matt Stinchcomb was a member of the band French Kicks, a New York-based indie rock group that toured extensively across the US and internationally for more than five years.  As the first employee at Etsy.com, an online marketplace for 1.5 million craftspeople and entrepreneurs, Matt led marketing, expanded the company to Europe, and served as Vice President of Values and Impact. Etsy is the first certified B Corporation to go public.

In 2015, funded by stock valued at $3,000,000 at the time of the Etsy.com IPO, Matt launched Etsy.org, a nonprofit dedicated to training business leaders with a focus on social impact. “Etsy.com’s mission is to reimagine commerce in ways that build a lasting and fulfilling world,” says Matt. “When we were thinking about starting a nonprofit, I started with that mission— if we are trying to reimagine how business is practiced, we need to reimagine how it is taught too.” Etsy.org is now called Good Work Institute.

Matt was named to the list of the Purpose Economy 100, and received the BALLE Local Economy Fellowship. He is a graduate of Oberlin College with a major in art history.
