CarlosAlexis Cruz
CarlosAlexis Cruz is an actor and stage director connecting circus arts and theater to tell stories. “Gestures can say more than a thousand words. We can transcend barriers with movements that are inclusive to all cultures and languages.” says CarlosAlexis.
A native of Puerto Rico, he illuminates cross-cultural narratives tackling topics such as immigration and community. His 2014 Nouveau Sud, Nouveau Cirque, portrays border crossings, stereotypical interactions and cultural traditions, stimulating cross-cultural conversations between Latino, African-American, and Asian-American communities.
CarlosAlexis has received fellowships and awards from the Princess Grace Foundation, the Theatre Communications Group, the Knight Foundation, and the McColl Center for Art and Innovation.
